DANCES WITH HISTORY ASSOCIATION
In between the words of the Herald, Pedro Nunes talks about his nonius and graduated ring and Garcia de Orta comments on his herbarium of medicinal plants and herbs. In the presence of King João III and Queen Catherine of Austria, the dances of the second half of the 16th century recall a time in which “dance is considered an uplifting and educational activity, recommended as exercise for the body and the spirit, taught from childhood and seen as a necessary requirement in the formation of ladies and courtiers”.
