Artes Bélicas – THE ‘CONTO’ OF THE LISBON CROSSBOWMEN

Learn about the ‘besteiros do conto’, local militias formed in the 13th century under King Dinis and known for their use of the crossbow (the most important ranged weapon in Medieval Portugal) as well as its technological evolution.
You can even give it a go yourself, under the supervision of a member of the Ofício Bélico!
