2020 will be remembered as the year of disruption! Everything that could possible go wrong went wrong, we went through all possible emotions and feelings, but now it’s time to prepare for the year ahead and so here a list of fun things to do this weekend, and the weekends ahead, to transition between holiday vibe to school vibe. Not everything is lost do to the current situation, and Lisbon has some cool events running in the next weeks!

Lisboa na Rua

The month-long cultural program from Cultura na Rua is starting this week with Lisboa Magica, but there are still lots of interesting and fun events to join: you find the entire program at this link but I can tell what we already experience last year!

Lisboa Magica

A glimpse of Lisboa Magica in 2018

A weekend long event full of funny performances by artists from all aorund the world, Lisboa Màgica is held in different locations around Lisbon Centre, mostly gardens and museums cloisters this year, like Palacio Baldaya, Jardim do Palacio Pimenta and more.

The event is free of charge, but accordingly to the currents situation, a set of measurements will be in place, like reserving your spot in advance through the official ticketing, wearing masks, sitting in the social distanced circle that will be set up at the different locations: if you forget the mask, they will be available at the event’s premises.

Following in the coming weeks from the same program: Chapeus na Rua Buskers Festival in Intendente, Antiprincesa, Lisboa soa and more.

Oceanario

If you haven’t been to the Oceanário yet, and you want to escape the heat, you can head over Oriente and visit one of the biggest aquarium of Europe, set up inside one of the former Expo Pavillions.

The Ocenário of Lisbon is very peculiar, having a big circular fish tank at the center of the building and 4 different ecosystem’s room you can walk through on two different levels, the vegetation upper level and the “underwater” one.

Visitors aged 13 to 64 can visit the Oceanário de Lisboa for just 15€ until August the 30th compare to the 19€ usual price, but remember to buy it in advance on their website to reserve a time slot: if you think you will go back, you can get a good deal with the yearly membership that has many perks you can read in full here.

INDIVIDUAL Membership
| €35 for 1 person; valid for 1 year

FAMILY Membership
| €85 (includes 4 cards: 2 adults + 2 children or 2 OAPs with the possibility of adding more cards – for children or OAPs – for €30 each); valid for 1 year.

Cable line at Expo

Remember you can alway jump on the amazing cable line that starts right next to the Oceanàrio and you can pay both ways: the one way tickets will leave you like nowhere and super far away from the metro station, but if you want to walk the riverside is not so bad and in the shade in the afternoon.

Brunch at Espaço a Larga – Santos a Velho Church

The Santos Collective is the organization behind the cool Espaço a Larga: an open-air sitting area and play-corner in front of Santos a Velho church, that offers dining options from the local restaurants and cafes in the close neighborhood.

Starting this weekend, a brunch option will be available Saturday and Sunday morning 10h00-15h00 and will be prepared by Merceria da Mila, an amazing grocery shop and cafe that prepares good and healthy food, hence really recommend it.

The Espaço will still be open during their usual time 17h00-23h00 and will be possible to order dinner and having it delivered from different establishments like Zappi pizzeria, Geographia restaurant, Heim Cafe, and Merceria da Mila special Tacos night.

The local mobile quiosque will serve drinks, margaritas, beers and a wine selection from amazing Senhor Uva wine shop.

Remember to follow them on Instagram to be update about future events like kids workshop, movie nights and so on!

Our little crew, literally!

My family and I, together with some friends, experienced a few weeks ago an amazing kids-friendly boat tour on the Tejo river and we got to see dolphins! The tour was already stunning on itself, but seeing dolphins, that are later in the river more often than usual, was an incredible experience!

Do you wanna hear more about it? Send me an email at meyouandeverywherewego@gmail.com or a DM on Instagram and I will let you know the details.
