€15 – €25OFFICE OF ANTHROPOLOGY FOR CHILDREN
Saturday, 1st December from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sunday, December 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Anthropology challenges barriers and categories, takes the obvious from language, explores etymologies, deconstructs identities. It interrogates, deep down, the human being. It gives account of the multiple attempts to give order to the flow of existence. And it puts open the fragility of every form of humanity. Yes, because humanity is made, it is not something acquired.
Doing Anthropology with children can be a precious and useful tool for those who will be a future citizen of increasingly complex and varied social realities.
The Little Workshop on Anthropology will start with something very old. Something that is not even situated in historical time, because it develops in an unknown time, founder – at an origin. In this mythical time, words and images are important.
Through mythology and, in this case of Greek mythology, I will introduce the concept of myth.
Through a few short stories, I will show how the world is intertwined forever, through a reciprocal permeability of ideas, gods, words, worship and objects.
Why start from the myth?
The myth represents a magical moment, in which language arises and tries to explain and give order to the world. The myth is the source of each knowledge and reminds us that all knowledge is somehow symbolic, like mythological knowledge.
