From inside out

Beaches are alive. An unique life form full of mystery and diversity of animals, plants, minerals and manmade objects. Between the sand and the water, the dunes and the sea, rests human plastic fossils, memories of our private life’s – the humanity garbage.
Whatever is private becomes public.
The sea brings everything that we throw out back to us. The shore collects all our stories. And inevitably we take it home again. It becomes part of our food chain. It becomes part of us.

Intimate landscapes are the story of this cycle.

Everything starts and end at the body.
The space of the private invades the collective and what seems to belong to the exterior returns inside and vice-versa in a process that seems endless.

With curiosity, while wandering in the beach, we expose ourselves to the unexpected finds. And with artistry alchemy, the original use of this old objects
creates space to a new meaning. A new life.

Andreia Marques is a former designer that discover her love for textiles in 2015.
Since then her work focuses on crossing the ancestral language of the fundamental weaving techniques with the intuition of her hands.
The artist finds meaning in the creation of beauty, comfort and intimacy through the threads of natural fibres while takes care of the individual narrative of each product.

The slow flow of the loom catalyzes an acceptance for the rhythm of life. Just like a dance which movement comes and goes from inside out.
