Children Workshops in Almada
Saturday, January 26th, 2019 @ 15:00 - 17:00
An event every 2 weeks that begins at 15:00 on Saturday, repeating until Saturday, May 18th, 2019
In 2019, we have workshops dedicated to the youngest. About two Saturdays a month (in some cases only one), we come together to discover, talk, discuss, build, unveil, know, risk, create. Several artists and pedagogues were invited to create workshops for children from 5 to 7 and from 8 to 11 years old. They will explore the theater, movement, music, writing or plastic arts. The workshops, which start at 3:00 a.m. and have a duration of 2 hours, are intended for children between the ages of 5 and 7 (in the case of the first Saturday of each workshop) and between 8 and 11 years (in the case of the second Saturday of each workshop). This activity has an associated cost of € 2.50 per participant.
This year we work from an edition of short stories written in the early nineteenth century by the English brothers Mary and Charles Lamb: Shakespeare’s Tales, originally published in 1807, adapting 20 pieces of what remains the most glorious name of Western theater history. The Lamb brothers believed that without the fanciful elements of Shakespeare’s stories, the poetic impulse, which is constitutively present in childhood, could be extinguished early, which really would be not only a pity as a waste of human experience, for poetry (the aesthetic emotion awakened by sensitivity to the beauty of the World) is part of being Man.
